==== Virtual reality (VR) ==== Virtual reality (VR) is a computer-generated, interactive environment in which a person can fully immerse themselves. With the help of special devices such as VR glasses, the real world is completely replaced by a simulated one. The user experiences a three-dimensional, artificial environment that can appeal to all the senses. With VR, the virtual experience completely isolates the person from the real world. This results in a high degree of immersion. However, the user must ensure that they do not collide with objects in the real world during a real movement. It is therefore advisable to have a sufficiently large range of movement that is free of obstacles. VR headsets usually support the virtual display of safety areas (guardians). Differentiation from AR and MR: * Augmented reality (AR): In contrast to VR, AR adds digital elements to the real world. The real environment remains visible, but is supplemented by virtual objects, information or effects. One example is the popular app Pokémon Go, in which virtual Pokémon appear in the real environment. * Mixed reality (MR): MR combines elements of VR and AR. It makes it possible to interact with virtual and real objects in a shared environment. The virtual world is integrated into the real world and can interact with it.
