2D image mode
In 2D image mode, a photo can be uploaded and used as the background of a 3D model. This mode offers the option of displaying virtual models in a real environment.
Select image
Settings
The uploaded image, e.g. a house page, is displayed as the background of the configurable product. To ensure that the three-dimensional product in the foreground matches the background image visually and in perspective and integrates seamlessly, it is usually necessary to adjust the following settings to the background image.
FOV
To adjust the field of view in the virtual space to that of a photo camera, the Field of view of the virtual camera is set here.
Image position
The background image is centred when it is inserted. Depending on the ratio of the image format to the visible screen area, parts of the image can be cut off vertically or horizontally and not be visible. This slider is used to adjust the image position in the corresponding direction in order to set the desired image section.
Sun position
This is used to change the position of the sun in order to adjust reflections and shadows cast by the 3D model to the lighting conditions of the background image.

Align model
The model can be aligned in front of the background using mouse or touch gestures (depending on the device). A description of the control options can be accessed via the control icon in the top menu bar.
Note
Two points should be observed for optimum visualisation:
- Do not use cut-outs: A photo, like the display of a virtual environment on the screen, has a central focus point in the centre and perspective gradients towards the edges. Complete original photos should always be used so that these match when overlaying.
- Hold the camera as straight as possible: When taking the photo, the camera should not be rotated in the direction of view if possible, i.e. the horizon on the left edge of the photo should be the same distance from the top edge as on the right. This ensures the best possible alignment with the virtual camera.
